Family Services

Fordwater Community Hub provides a range of family services that enable our Fordwater families to create a network between themselves other families and the wider local community.

We hold regular coffee mornings and have begun to hold evening meet ups, to enable our parents and carers to establish face to face contact as many of our pupils travel to and from school on school transport. Parents creating a network between themselves, is a hugely important part of school life, as they are able to provide support and understanding from shared experiences.  Through our family socials, we encourage parents of older and also previous Fordwater Students to share helpful advice and experiences with some of our newer families, we find this can be an extremely positive experience for some of our families.

We are beginning to establish a range of health and wellbeing services within school, such as a mobile hairdresser.  Our in school hairdressing service allows parents and their children to work on desensitising to the hairdressing experience, explore having their haircut in a positive and familiar environment and build on this over time with the help and support of our staff team here at Fordwater.
