Mental Health and Wellbeing

Mental health and wellbeing makaton

We know how challenging it can be as parents and carers to provide support for children and young people in an ever changing world. Sometimes there are no solutions but just knowing that we can share our problems with others can be a huge help. We hope you find the information on this page helpful. Please get in touch if you have any further suggestions as to how this page can be improved or if you find a resource that you think others may find useful.

Thought Full

Fordwater School is a named Thought-Full School. Thought-Full are the Mental Health Support Team for West Sussex. They offer a range of support including short-term interventions for children experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties.

Thought-full support schools in 3 ways:

  1. We support the senior mental health lead (SMHL) in each education setting to introduce or develop their whole school approaches to mental health and emotional wellbeing.
  2. We provide one to one evidence-based interventions in schools for mild to moderate mental health issues such as anxiety and depression.
  3. We give advice to school staff and liaise with external specialist services, to help children and young people to get the right support and stay in education.

For further information please contact Natalie Lambert (Senior Mental Health Lead) via email natalie.lambert@fordwatersch.co.uk
